Kerstin Flake's photo series defy physics. Everyday objects and people float without function in surreal scenes. The staging of the photographs is carefully planned and meticulously prepared. Nevertheless, they seem light and make the seemingly impossible become possible.
Flake was an artist in residence in 2022. In this context, she took photographs in the Muche / Schlemmer master house and used this as a backdrop and stage. The series of photos taken there has since been shown in the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig. In 2024, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation will present the series in the Kandinsky Masters House.
