Optical Color Mixer . HIRSCHFELD-MACK

Experience different color theories experimentally, playfully and sensually” that is the simple and at the same time ingenious idea of ??the optical color mixer. Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack developed it in 1924 as a follow-up to his color seminar, which he gave outside the official curriculum between 1922 and 23 after his journeyman's examination. Hirschfeld-Mack himself had studied with none other than Josef Itten and Lyonel Feininger. His most extensive work was the Farblichspiele from 1923, in which he combined color, light, space and movement.

The color spinning top comes with seven different color discs made of cardboard. If you feel like it, you can add your own experiments. Awarded with the Bauhaus original seal of the Bauhaus Archive Berlin, produced by the NAEF manufacturer in Switzerland.
