GRETE . BAUHAUS . Servierbrett . edited by muse
Inspired by Margaretha "Grete" Reichard's carpet from the Bauhaus Dessau collection.
The rhythm of the lines and a beautiful play with the illusion of height and depth using very few means determine the design. We found it so typical of the Bauhaus that we immediately developed a small line for the Bauhaus Dessau.
Margaretha Reichard came to the Bauhaus from Erfurt and studied with all the big names from 1926 to 1931 - including Josef Albers, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. Alongside Gunta Stölzl, she became one of the most successful textile designers at the famous weaving mill.
