B9a + B9b . MARCEL BREUER . red

From 1925 to 1928, the Hungarian-born Marcel Breuer was the director carpentry workshop at the Bauhaus Dessau. Here he began experimenting with bent steel tubes in cooperation with the nearby Junkers factory. The result was revolutionary: the creation of the world's first tubular steel furniture. The fact that the function of the item was not narrowly defined, was also a groundbreaking idea. Today, the B9a is still used as a stool in the Bauhaus Dessau canteen, but it can also be used as a side table. Thonet now offers this design icon in various material combinations and colours.
