Foldable Armchair . D4 . MARCEL BREUER . Mud
The Tecta D4 by Marcel Breuer can be described as the foldable brother of the Wassily armchair. Originally known as the B4, this elegant folding version is a truly mobile model of the tubular steel club chair that can be used when needed and frees up the space when not in use. The practical idea behind the design as well as the materials used make the D4 a Bauhaus piece of furniture par excellence.
Part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York since 1980
The Re-editions of the Bauhaus models manufactured faithfully by Tecta are approved by the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin and bear the signet based on the symbol designed by Oskar Schlemmer at the Bauhaus.
